Restoring Autonomy for Survivors in India
At TAARA, we’re not just changing lives—we’re transforming futures. Our mission is to restore autonomy for sex trafficking survivors by equipping them with vital education and vocational skills. In India, many survivors lack employable skills or business know-how, rendering them vulnerable to being trafficked again due to economic hardship. We are here to break this cycle and empower survivors to thrive independently.
Tailored Empowerment Programs
Our approach is unique and thorough. We start with comprehensive psychological, cognitive and academic evaluations to gauge each survivor’s aptitude, receptivity, and desire for a particular vocation. Through these evaluations, we are able to ensure that TAARA’s Empowerment Program provides educational skills tailored to survivors’ abilities and needs.
Once our participants complete the foundational course, we offer certified vocational training and an entrepreneurship development program. This dual approach allows survivors to choose between employment and launching their own small businesses. And we don’t stop there—TAARA also provides seed money to help them achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.
