On December 8, 2023 TAARA hosted its Annual Gala at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City On The Hudson, bringing together a diverse community to celebrate our achievements and recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the cause.

This year’s Gala was particularly special as we had the honor of recognizing Michael Aram, for his dedication to craftsmanship and Conchita Sarnoff for her impact in the fight against sex trafficking. Our survivor Renata* was the real star on the evening, as she was applauded with a standing ovation for her courage and resilience. Her narrative stands as a testament to the dedicated efforts of TAARA.

Elegant Affairs exceeded all expectations, meticulously curating every detail—from the vibrant flowers generously donated by Meenakshi Lala of Urban Stems, to the captivating colors and the lively photo booth by Shout. The experience was flawlessly complemented by the exquisite cuisine prepared by Chef Vipul of Moghul Caterers. Our sincere gratitude extends to Neia Bock of Drink Good Spirits for her generous donation of the tequila tasting, and a special thanks to The Paanwala for his contribution that added the perfect finishing touch to the palate. As the crowd danced the night away, the rhythmic beats of D&S Event Solutions created an unforgettable atmosphere. We express our gratitude to OBVI for the favors which were beautifully presented in bags crafted by our survivors in India.

Of course, our evening’s emcees, Manish Israni & Cristy Kaur, delivered a phenomenal performance, captivating the audience and ensuring the seamless flow of the show.

The Annual Gala not only provided a platform for acknowledgment but also served as a vital means to raise awareness and funds for the education of sex trafficking survivors in India and the USA, along with the expansion of our R.A.I.S.E program in the USA. The attendees’ support and generosity were evident as Master Auctioneer Harry Santa, once again, adeptly tapped into the benevolent spirit of the audience, resulting in raising over $350,000.
